Visitors to Campus

All guests are expected to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Failure to comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and/or the RIT Safety Plan will result in the removal of visitors, contractors, and temporary employees until such time as assurances can be provided that compliance has been achieved. The RIT individual sponsoring the visit is responsible for informing their visitor of the provisions of the RIT Safety Plan and for ensuring compliance with the Safety Plan.

Move-in

Two guests are allowed to assist in the drop-off zones and moving into the building. More information on move-in procedures, including selecting appointment times, is available on the RIT Housing website.

Visitors

All visitors to campus must stop at the RIT Welcome Center before circulating on campus. The RIT individual sponsoring the visit is responsible for informing their visitor of the provisions of the RIT Safety Plan and for ensuring compliance with the Safety Plan.

Event Safety Guidelines

To better protect the RIT community, large-scale indoor public events will have additional safety requirements. These guidelines will be revisited periodically and revised, depending on public health concerns and warnings.

Admissions Visits

All individuals on campus to visit the Office of Admissions should go to the Bausch and Lomb Center and confirm that they are free from symptoms of and known exposure to COVID-19. In addition to wearing masks indoors and outdoors at all times (with some breaks when outside and socially distanced), prospective students and families will be required to undergo a temperature check. In addition, admission visitor programming will be timed so prospective students and families will not remain on-campus for more than four hours.

Athletics Visitor Policy

Visitors and invited guests coming onto campus as spectators for intercollegiate sports play, athletic recruiting visits, and sports clinics shall comply with the provisions of the Athletics Visitor Policy. In addition, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will be required for all fans (12 years of age and older) attending RIT men's and women's hockey games at the Gene Polisseni Center.

RIT Housing Guest Policy

Students who reside in RIT housing may host guests in their living space provided that the guest(s) is also a currently enrolled RIT student. Guests must abide by the requirements of RIT’s Safety Plan. Room/suitemates must agree upon any guests in the room/apartment. This policy will be adjusted as needed in response to COVID transmission rates at RIT and the surrounding community. Any adjustments to this policy will be communicated to residential students via email.

Personal aides, nurses, care givers, or any other reasonable accommodations provided to students with disabilities are not considered to be guests.

RIT will monitor compliance and infection rates, this guidance may be modified as a result.

Vendors and Contractors

All contractors and temporary employees (those hired through a temporary employment agency) are expected to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

No visitors are allowed to enter RIT housing. Students requiring assistance moving in or out of RIT housing should email [email protected]

All visitors to campus must complete the Daily Health Screen and stop at the RIT Welcome Center before circulating on campus. If they are on campus for more than ½ day or more than once a month, or if they are meeting with multiple people or departments, they must have a COVID-19 test within 14 days prior to their first visit and provide evidence of a negative result to the RIT individual sponsoring the visit.

At this time, off-campus guests are not permitted in on-campus housing.

No guests to campus residences are permitted other than those who live in your apartment or on your floor. Personal aides, nurses, caregivers, or any other reasonable accommodations provided to students with disabilities are not considered guests.
