Student Spotlight
DeAvalon Holman
by: Caroline Dewberry, PR student intern
DeAvalon Holman is a senior communication major from Southaven, Miss., majoring in communication with a concentration in communication & media studies. Holman is involved in the Student Honor Code Council, the Student Conduct Board, and the Student Tickets Appeal Board. He served as a 2020 Orientation Leader and is an intern at the MSU Speaking Center. In the future, Holman plans to get a master’s in higher education with a focus in student affairs.
Holman was nominated by his professor Pete Smith, who said “I am so proud of DeAvalon. Cheryl Chambers recently hired him as one of the interns for the Speaking Center, and I couldn’t agree more with that decision. If the coursework I’ve graded is any indication- and I think it is- he’s going to be an asset for the Center and for any future employer.”
